When will schools remain closed in February?
At the very beginning of the month, schools and colleges will remain closed.
1 February is Sunday, and it is also Sant Ravidas Jayanti, due to which schools remained closed in several states. After that, 8 February is Sunday, so schools and colleges will remain closed. Then on 15 February, Sunday, it is Maha Shivratri, and on this day schools and colleges across the country will remain closed.
On 18 February 2026, it is the Losar festival, and on this occasion schools may remain closed in Sikkim. On 19 February 2026, it is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, and there is a holiday in Maharashtra, so all schools and colleges will remain closed there. On 22 February, Sunday, all schools will again remain closed. In this way, schools will remain closed for a total of 6 days this month.
Examinations in February–March
This month will be examination time for students from small classes to Classes 10 and 12. Board exams will begin from 17 February. Exams for students from Nursery to Class 9 and Class 11 will also be conducted during this period. These exams may continue until the early days of March, while board examinations may continue until April.
