New Expressway : Land Along the National Highway will Not be Sold, Notification Issued.

New Expressway : If you are planning to buy or sell land along the National Highway, this news is important for you. The District Collector has issued a notification stating that the purchase and sale of land along this National Highway has now been prohibited.

In fact, for the construction of a four-lane road on the national highway connecting Raipur to Sarangarh (NH-130B), restrictions have been imposed on land transactions along the villages located on both sides of the road passing through Balodabazar district. The Balodabazar Collector issued the notification stating that activities such as sale-purchase of land, partition, and mutation have been put on hold.

Under administrative orders, land registries have been restricted in villages falling under the revenue subdivisions of Palari, Balodabazar, and Kasdol in Balodabazar district. The objective is to ensure a smooth land acquisition process for the proposed four-lane road construction.

New Expressway : Benefits of the Four-Lane Road

At present, the Raipur–Balodabazar road is a two-lane road carrying heavy traffic pressure. This road is widely used for nearby major cement industries and other industrial activities. The government has now approved the proposal to convert this road into a four-lane highway. After expansion, traffic congestion will reduce, industrial transportation will become easier, and road accidents are also expected to decline significantly.

Project Cost: ₹1,494 Crore

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has approved this project. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has prepared a total budget of ₹1,494 crore to convert the Raipur to Balodabazar stretch into a four-lane road.

Construction in Two Phases

The widening of the Raipur–Balodabazar two-lane road into four lanes will be completed in two phases:

Phase 1:
A 53.1-kilometer four-lane road will be constructed from the Raipur Assembly area to Balodabazar at a cost of ₹844 crore.

Phase 2:
Another 53.1-kilometer stretch will be upgraded to four lanes, with an approved cost of ₹650 crore.
